ALDE presents the seminar ‘CBRN Weapons — an invisible Risk. Is Europe sufficiently Prepared?’. Amidst increased geopolitical tensions, there has been growing concern that terrorist groups, lone wolves or rogue nations might use biological weapons, or any type of a CBRN weapon. International reports and studies provide good reason to believe that threats from a deliberate use of CBRN weapons are no longer inconceivable: international counter-terrorism experts consider a possible CBRN weapon attack possible. The Seminar is hosted by MEPs Hilde Vautmans, Nathalie Griesbeck and Urmas Paet and will take place between 15:00–18:00 in EP Room PHS 5B001 in Brussels.
It’s 2018 International Women’s Day. MEPs and national MPs will join forces for a conference on “Empowering women and girls in media and ICTs: key for the future” from 9:00 to 12:30h. Parliament President Antonio Tajani, Justice, Consumers and Gender Equality Commissioner Věra Jourová and European Parliament Women’s Rights and Gender Equality Committee Chair Vilija Blinkevičiūtė will be among the speakers and closing remarks by ALDE’s Izaskun Bilbao.
