TUESDAY

Employment Committee will host a public hearing on transparent and predictable working conditions in the EU with MEP Enrique Calvet Chambon (ES) as rapporteur, to gain better understanding of the legal and social considerations underlying the proposal.

MEPs and national leaders will meet to discuss the implementation of new EU rules on data protection which are set to take effect on 25 May.

Financial Crimes and Tax Evasion Committee will host a hearing about the fight against harmful tax practices within the European Union and abroad, presented by chair MEP Petr Ježek (CZ).

MEP Norica Nicolai (RO) will present a draft report on the state of play of recreational fisheries in the EU.

WEDNESDAY

The improvement of cybersecurity of Europe’s armed forces will be voted by the Foreign Affairs Committee to make it easier to identify the sources of cyber-attacks. ALDE MEP Urmas Paet (EE) is the rapporteur.

A review of the EU funding for migration-related programmes and their challenges will take place on Wednesday in a joint public hearing organised by Civil Liberties, Budgets and Budgetary Control Committees.

The Budgets Committee will vote on mobilising more than €100 million in financial aid to Greece, Portugal or Spain due to natural disasters such as earthquakes and fires occurred in 2017.

THURSDAY

Related to the previous topic, Environment Committee will vote on an overhaul of the Union Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM) as the current system is unable to respond to all the requests of the EU member states for support on dealing with natural disasters.

For the first time ever, the European Parliament will fly the Rainbow Flag in celebration of the day against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOTB) at 12.00 in front of the main entrance with the presence of ALDE First Vice-President Sophie in 't Veld (NL).
