TUESDAY 20
The Environment and Public Health Committee, which includes ALDE’s co-rapporteur Frédérique Ries, will vote on a draft resolution calling on the Council and European Commission to achieve a global ban on cosmetics testing on animals, as around 80 % of the world’s countries still allow animal testing and the marketing of cosmetics tested on them.
WEDNESDAY 21
The Committee on Foreign Affairs, will debate on a Recommendation to the Council, the Commission, and the EEAS on cutting the sources of income for Jihadists, targeting the financing of terrorism by ALDE’s rapporteur Javier Nart. Also the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee will give its opinion on a proposal to create a single, clear and fair European corporate tax regime, dubbed the “Common Consolidated Corporate Tax Base” (CCCTB), which would also embrace digital firms.
The first European Defence Industrial Development Programme, with a budget of 500 million euros for 2019–2020, is up for a legislative vote in the Industry and Research Committee. EU financial assistance would cover the development of new and upgraded defence products and technologies in the EU.
THURSDAY 22
The Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee will vote on the presentation of the Single Digital Gateway, an online portal which will provide online information, procedures, assistance and problem solving services to citizens and companies within the EU, pushed by ALDE MEP Kaja Kallas as shadow rapporteur.
Budget Committee MEPs, including ALDE’s Chair Jean Arthuis and co-rapporteur Gérard Deprez, will put forward proposals to reform the EU long-term budget post-2020 (multi-annual financial framework or MFF) and the European Union’s system of own resources on followed by a conference.
