Second Plenary Session this month at the European Parliament in Strasbourg with lots of interesting topics to discuss, debate and vote. See our priorities below.


The Agriculture Committee will vote on an opinion by our MEP Elsi Katainen (FI) on the Horizon Europe, the Framework Programme for Research and Innovation. We will discuss the file in deep with her in an exclusive interview. Stay tuned!

MEP Renate Weber (RO) is the rapporteur on a Employment report on the role of employee financial participation in creating jobs and reactivating the unemployed, which will be debated that evening and voted on Tuesday.

The Plenary will debate on Monday and vote on Tuesday for an report on the reduction of the impact of certain plastic products on the environment, with MEP Frédérique Ries (BE) as rapporteur, and also a report on quality of water intended for human consumption.


The Members of the ECON and TAX3 Committees will hold an exchange of views with Mr Bruno Le Maire, the French Minister for Economy and Finance on digital taxation.

The Prime Minister of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, visits the Parliament to debate on The Future of Europe, with the intervention of our Group President Guy Verhofstadt.

MEP Iskra Mihaylova (BG) presents a report on resources for economic, social and territorial cohesion and resources for the investment for growth and jobs goal.


The general budget for the European Union for the financial year 2019 will be voted in Plenary after being presented and debated the evening before.

The Transport Committee will present to the hemicycle a report on the proposal for a directive on the charging of heavy goods vehicles for the use of certain infrastructures, with MEP Dominique Riquet (FR) as our shadow rapporteur.

MEPs of the Committee on International Trade and the Committee on Internal Market and Consumer Protection will debate on a report on the proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on the import of cultural goods.


The Plenary will vote on a Transport report on Deployment of alternative fuels infrastructure, with the agreement of Paris on climate change in force, it is necessary to accelerate the transition to a modern low-carbon economy. MEP Gesine Meissner (DE) is our shadow rapporteur.
