The week ahead: 26–30 March 2018
MONDAY
The murder of Slovak investigative journalist Ján Kuciak will be debated by Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE). This will feed into a resolution to be voted in April’s plenary session.
TUESDAY
Employment and Social Affairs Committee (EMPL) will vote on an update of EU rules for protecting workers from carcinogens and mutagens at work, with ALDE MEP Enrique Calvet Chambón (ES) as shadow rapporteur.
LIBE Committee will debate on the European Agenda on Migration with representatives of the European Commission and the Migration Policy Centre. The Committee will also vote on Mutual recognition of freezing and confiscation orders, with ALDE MEP Nathalie Griesbeck (FR) as rapporteur and Subjecting new psychoactive substances to control measures (NLE) with MEP Maite Pagazaurtundúa Ruiz (ES) as rapporteur.
ALDE MEP and chair of the Committee on Regional Development Iskra Mihaylove (BG) organises the conference European Territorial Cooperation Post 2020. The event aims at discussing ways of delivering more efficient, integrated and simplified European Territorial Cooperation (INTERREG) post 2020. The Committee will also discuss the Future of the EU cohesion policy aiming at reducing gaps among regions.
WEDNESDAY
The Committee on Legal Affairs (JURI) and the Committee on Constitutional Affairs (AFCO) will celebrate a joint meeting about the interpretation and implementation of the interinstitutional agreement on Better Law-Making.
