TUESDAY

Our MEPS will be busy with group meetings to prepare next week’s plenary session in Strasbourg, discussing several files on Environment, Liberties or Budgetary Control Committees and the ALDE draft resolution on the protection of investigative journalists in Europe: the case of Slovak journalist Ján Kuciak and Martina Kušnírová by Vice-President Sophie in ’t Veld (NL).

ALDE MEP Gesine Meissner (DE) takes part in the conference “Mission: Plastic Free Ocean, science and innovation for a healthy ocean”. More info here.

WEDNESDAY

MEP Hilde Vautmans (BE) will represent ALDE at the conference ‘Lost In Migration II: From European priorities to local realities”, to discuss the future of children refugees arriving to Europe with Missing Children Europe and the President’s Foundation for the Wellbeing of Society. More info here.

THURSDAY

The Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety will exchange views with the Commission on possible further restrictions on the use of neonicotinoids to treat sugar-beet, a plant whose root contains a high concentration of sucrose and which is grown commercially for sugar production.

The Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs Committee will discuss the draft
report on the situation in Hungary, assessing whether Hungary is at risk of a serious breach of EU values and if Parliament should ask the Council to act on the basis of Article 7(1) of the EU Treaty.
